Security

The Security of the Library is Manifold.

Asset Security
	This is primarily achieved through EAS- Electronic Article Surveillance.EAS is enabled by tagging the asset with Electromagnetic technology based
3M Tattle tapes or with EAS enabled 3M D1 RFID document Labels.The EAS function on the Tags of the Tagged assets is disabled at the circulation workstations, when they are issued to patrons for use outside the library premises. In case the patron tries to remove a non-issued asset, the detection gates at the exit points of the library will setoff audio/ visual alarms. The gates when connected to automatic doors/ Turnstiles will lock the same on an alarm being setoff.

Access Control
	The library area can be bifurcated into a public area accessible to every visitor, and a restricted area accessible only to enrolled members of the library. Access control of the restricted premises is achieved by installing
Devices such as Tripod Turnstiles equipped with Smart card readers, which read smart Library cards and regulate entry/ exit to & fro the restricted zone. This facility while regulating entry to only registered patrons also provides footfall and patron flow analysis.

Solid RFID security
	In addition to providing security, the Model 8800 is completely safe for all magnetic media. Along with an integrated traffic counter, the system features an optional oice alarm that plays a customizable message.
The system accurately identifies items that haven’t been properly checked out. Designed to fit into a variety of floor plans and décors—in compliance with ADA requirements—the Model 8800 has a variety of mounting options: direct mount, base plate or buried cable. While no application server is required, optional electronics outputs allow libraries to add other security features.
